Animal shelters and humane societies throughout the U.S. are equipped to scan for InfoPET microchips. When a microchip is found, the staff calls InfoPET's National Recovery Hotline with the microchip's unique identification number. Day and night - 365 days a year, InfoPET provides shelters and humane societies with the information needed to quickly return the pet to its owner, as well as vital medical information, thus decreasing the amount of time the pet is held and the costs incurred. InfoPET's parent company, Vantro Systems, repairs Trovan® LID-500 and GR-250/251 Hand-Held Readers. The most common LID-500 problem is failure of the reader's NiCad battery to hold a charge, requiring replacement of the battery. Reader repair details can be found at Reader Repair.
